Were thinking about it long time ago (when N'Zoth was not even revealed) but thought it's kinda silly connection. And Darkmoon name, Elune, night warriors, it's not coincidience, lol.Additionaly it isn't even explained how this island exist, and where it is. It's just there, once for a week in a month, mysteriously.
This was obvious since the actual instanced fairgrounds opened up, at least to me, but everybody told me I was crazy. They also told me I was crazy about there being a sleeping Titan hidden somewhere on\/in Azeroth, and that Watcher Tyr met his end in Tirisfal. Next prediction, Elune is the not the Goddess of life and renewal everyone thinks she is, she is actually the Goddess of Death who watches over the Shadowlands. That's why she claimed Ysera's soul in front of us, that's why her son Cenarius is the literal embodiment of nature (which is the balance of life and death, see druids, especially Gorak Tul), that's why she can reflect the soothing light and the shadowy void while still embodying neither. Next expansion is going to be a death based one, the foreshadowing is suffocating at this point.
I personally always thought of them as Cultists who are disguised, doing ritual things deep in the forest of Darkmoon Island... distracting people from this fact with the Faire. That way, the event brings more lambs to their island, and those who wander off become sacrifices.\r\rIf it wasn't entirely malicious at first could've been infiltrated by servants of the Old Gods without Silas' knowledge.

Next time I go there, I'll feel like Hansel and Gretel entering the witch's house made of candy and cake. (The cake is a lie.)
let the old gods have fun, too :v

Silas confirmed as N'zoth

Next expansion is going to be a death based one, the foreshadowing is suffocating at this point.\r\rI like the Elune theory! Also with life\/death, one of the Island rewards says "Not all of us that guard the natural world see your kind as allies. There are many of my kind that seek to preserve the balance above all things. Even if that means your death." And Tyrande as the Night Warrior focuses on killing the Horde--as well as a Val'kyr, which impacts Sylvanas' plans to avoid death through Val'kyr rezzes.
Siege of Darkmoon Faire raid confirmed

Yet at same time it's kinda sad and troubling to see stuff like this "speculated", even in joke form, when we have all seen that Blizzard is really capable of making such silly things into real lore. Maybe... let's just don't give them addional ideas? :P
Now that is an interesting bit of speculation

That way, the event brings more lambs to their island, and those who wander off become sacrifices.\r\rIf it wasn't entirely malicious at first could've been infiltrated by servants of the Old Gods without Silas' knowledge.\r\rIt's definitely weird how the forest gets such sinister treatment in the artwork? Many areas in WoW have forests and don't really get anything special like black shading or weird broken depictions of trees.
Surprised no one has commented on the fact that some of the music from Drust'var has the same tune as the Darkmoon carnival music.

This theory is crackpot at best. Blizzard is always reusing old models... Xal'atah herself is just a basic void elf model. People are looking way too far into this, as if Blizzard really cares enough about the lore at this point.
I'm just putting this out there, I've always thought a Darkmoon Faire dungeon\/raid with thematically matching crazy sets and weapons would be absolutely amazing, plus the fun encounters they could add with all the games and soon to be rollercoster there?\rThere's just so much whacky potential there.
This article will likely not reveal N'Zoth's master plan, instead highlighting fun coincidences or details designed to tease, but...why not highlight them?\r\rWhy don't you write a post about how the puzzle box, Il'gynoth, whispers, etc. should not be treated as gospel?\r\rI doubt the average player read it, but A Thousand Years of War very clearly stated the Old Gods are not prophetic by any stretch (and the Light isn't either). I know it's meant to be fun, but posts like these perpetuate the idea in the community that every single new whisper or quote should be taken EXTREMELY SERIOUSLY. And it leads to very obnoxious discussion.
Well, one thing is for sure: There's something strange in the neighbourhood.
Fun article and people should remember "Why so serious?" - which brings up a good point from the Joker... at least the Faire has no clowns right? All truly evil Faires have clowns. But the DMF was always creepy and dark. Moonwolf's appearing, vendors selling cannibal items, though for some reason they removed all but two from her (same vendor as the Inky)
