Always love reading these, just a part-time/amateur goblin myself (only goal is renew with gold instead of cash). But the tips and insights are always helpful. In regards to the emissary change, and the coming XP change it hAs motivated me to work on getting my alts set up and gaining rested XP for leveling, it feels like a positive change on the whole.
I prefer playing the AH, but to each their own i suppose, it feels amazing when you just make 200k flipping sky golems on the AH but at the same time i can see how frustrating it is when someone undercuts you over and over again
I would rather not specifically farm for anything I plan to sell and usually just use up what I get from adventuring. At times I'd buy the mats when they're cheap then craft them into something that sells well.
I'll have to read the full guide cause it's sounds nice and easy to farm stuff to sell, but I'm guessing it was many hours per day. I don't have that many hours per day to farm and a lot of my time is taken up raiding or getting ready to raid. Someday I'd like the AH mount though...
I've mainly focused on characters that I dedicate profession time to to level up atm. In 8.1 I'll just focus on some of the remaining characters of mine, most likely when those incursions (or whatever they're called) are up for some bonus XP.
"Have you been waiting to level alts until 8.1?"I have been waiting, with non heritage characters. Those will be levelled up in the "Invasions" style, as and when possible. It's really efficient and they're utility characters, rather than necessary, so they can wait. It was such an efficient way to level, in Legion, that I'll definitely be doing it again. In the meantime, I've slowly been raising a Dark Iron Dwarf. I'd like to get the armour, so I've had no choice but to level in the traditional manner. Going back to it, I think more people should take the time to quest and experience the world. I'm always reminded of how much depth there is in it.
About the 5 million in month, question is how many hours you invested each day...
when I heard about 8.1 and what it was bringing I literally stopped leveling. Sharing reputations means I can instantly level my professions rather than having to unlock all of the content repeatedly and farm the reputation. Also the reduction in XP required from lvl 60 - 80 is a huge incentive for me to wait until this patch it released. I have a graveyard of alts stuck in this leveling bracket because I really struggle with the time it takes as well as keeping up with the guild pack on my main toon. Mats to farm for raids etc and Azerite to collect. I will be more inclined to do the emissary caches on my main as there is a bigger incentive to do these. As for gold making I would love to be able to be able to farm bones etc, but I would need a monk, I have a monk alt that is gathering dust bunnies for friends in the lvl 65 graveyard so maybe once 8.1 arrives, I will be able to level my monk quickly, get to farming, watch some netflix and get selling pretty stacks to finally make a decent amount of gold profit. I am not quite a goblin, I purely wear a pocket watch, and AH twice a week but my gold has taken years to mount up and I only have 2 million. I would love to get the mounts that cost the pretty penny. So with your guide, and with 8.1 I may finally get this done! I would love the idea of having a 2nd account that would pay for itself and make a profit! I have 1 toon that flips AH and 1 toon that sells materials from all sides of globe but nothing in huge numbers as its just what my main comes across during play time. The toon that flips AH, I gave it 50g and I made 5k but it was slow as I didnt log in daily so maybe I should give it a try again and log in more frequently to see what I could achieve and then monk it up ! :)
Love the age old gold making opportunities that farming brings. Takes me back...Anyways, I am definitely waiting until 8.1 to start leveling alts. It's always nice to be able to swap to a different character with different strengths during raiding progression.
I never had luck selling on the AH. Definitely going to try some of the farming tips. It just a matter of sneaking it in my playtime during the week. The kids keep me busy :-)
2 gold emisary quest per week ,4 weeks in a month ,1 max lvl toons = 16k gold / month , wow token price is around 115kG , so you need at least 8 max lvl toons to achiev those 115k ...not just 2
I don't farm at all. I just use passive income from vendoring stuff on my dual gathering alts and try to sell transmog items. Only issue with that is that they take forever to sell.
"Have two accounts" makes it uninteresting. I mean, sure it worked for him, but it's not applicable for most people. Also, multiboxing is kind of like using cheat codes. Sure, it's allowed, but I don't find anything done with multiboxing impressive.
Very good read on the 5 mil in a month farming. I never knew about the 4x2 method!
I will not wait to level my alts, right now there isn't much to do aside form raiding and farming, so Im actually enjoying leveling eventho it takes for ages. I also try to level doing various things. For example, this week im doing pet battles while leveling with the water striders in Mistfall village. I can level 1 pet from 1 to 25 in around 10 battles, while also leveling my alts at a good pace.
The epic profession items sound really cool. Keen to see what the engineering constructs will be.
I'm way more inclined to farm than camp the AH. I just like farming, I find it relaxing.
Have you been waiting to level alts until 8.1? Definitely, waiting for the incursions and improvements to islands. Questing I've seen several times over already, and current edition of islands is horrible if you aren't a premade / getting boosted but queue with randoms who train the whole island onto you and repeatedly die, taking you with them half the time. Random dungeons aren't worth it unless you're a tank and can set a pace, otherwise they're full of tanks who seem to be first time tanking and first time seeing the dungeon which makes it excruciatingly slow. Unfortunately with no flying and no heirlooms there's no good way to level alts, without this constant "are we there yet...?" nagging feeling especially that with every passing level you feel weaker, so exhaustion and boredom is setting in very quickly. What do you focus on first when you get to max level on an alt? Getting some basic gear so I'm not steamrolled by trash mobs in open world...
