I love that man.
It's not hard to make both sides happy. The group that wants Vanilla exactly as it was and the group that wants to play with enhanced Legion-quality graphics. The difference is an option toggled on or off. Blizzard would simply need to add a patch-#.MPQ with new models and whenever the option to see them is toggled on, the game will load the character models of EVERYTHING in game from players to npcs to mounts and even buldings from the modern looking database in said .MPQ file and whenever it's toggled off, it would default to the original graphics.Another incentive to keep a the same group that wants enhanced graphics and even the vanila-only hardcore purists "i wont touch anything but vanilla" group from wanting to play both versions of the game would be to give achievements unlocking cosmetic rewards on current wow whenever a player earns or achieves something challenge to get/do in Classic wow.
when DAOC revived classic servers...not gonna last
I didn't have the chance to play on classic WoW, but I feel like people will really miss the quality of life improvements that happened over the years. I'm excited for it as much as the next person, but I foresee a bunch of people complaining and saying they ruined it
I know it will not be exactly like it was in the beginning but it will be nice to get an idea of what it was like back then. Nice to see how the forefathers struggled. :)
I will definately play on one, but also I am looking forward for the frustration of people, who all what remember is the magic of WoW vanilla and then, they aggro more than one mob.
Interesting, fun comments and I do agree that community always kept this game strong. And that's what it was really about back in vanilla, too. Though back then, I was too busy with "Jeff's sh*tty quests" to notice :P
interesting but not for all
Hopefully people find what they're looking for in Classic. Wouldn't bother me too much if Blizz pick a 'state' of the game and deliver the best version of that, character balance and bug fixes and all. But I think that's about as far as it should go. Maaaaybe small things like the flightpath improvements? I'm torn on whether they should include the new models, it seems almost mean to say no. But they should keep it as close to the original as they can. Otherwise what's the point?Definitely don't think Classic should award achieves or cosmetics or mounts/pets on live though. As for community, I dunno. I was a shy kind of guy, still am, I don't find it easy to just make and keep friends. But I do remember a Kara run once, I was a semi-regular with a workmate's group and they'd pugged in a few others. One was, I think, kind of well known as the server joke. His lock (or mage, IDK) had some healing gear on, for one... and from the comments people made, I think that was typical for him.I might visit Classic, but I don't want to live there again. I don't want to go back to casters using wands when they run out of mana, and then having to physically stop wanding to cast the next spell. Or keeping the few mounts I might have in my bags/bank and losing precious space. Or... you get the idea.
Conevience or not, I'm really interested in what blizz will take over from vanilla and what not.I just hope they use modern targeting. Otherwise, please let it be as it was.
a wise man once said "be careful what you wish for, for you just might get it."
Tigole. The legend. So very excited to go back.
Ahh man, I really wish I could work for Blizzard. But I don't have any related study to be able to do anything there, I think working there really feels like a family since you are all sharing the same passion. Only something I can dream about!
I do wonder if these people saying classic was harder actually played it.I remember finding it hard on my first lvl 60, but it was a breeze for my second, 3rd and fourth. Dungeons were a breeze and became worthless too fast, the only difficulty coming from the set related quests. The raids were difficult, but I think that came more from organising 40 people.Difficulty came from the fact that we were all noobs, and people didn't understand their classes. Once you understood them, it became easy.
It is good ideea , you will remind us about old times.
