I would say getting to 85 first is better. Normally, expension new zones are made to allow a tons of players to be there at sametime, while old zones, not necessarily. So leveling to 85 first, allow to thins the numbers of people in low level zone, allowing a better experience of it.Also, it allows you to play with your friends when they will start raiding. The most important question is... which one of my 12 lvl 80 will I get to 85 first...
Take my main Paladin on a 'new world' tour first. After that fun.Wogren Hunter then Goblin Rogue then Wogen DK then Goblin DK then finally back to my main Paladin 80-85! Than back to my new Goblin Rogue. 10-60-Thunderfury!

I'm gonna level up my main to 85, do some dungeons and maybe raids, then I guess I'll level my alts, then roll a troll druid, then roll a goblin I'm actually gonna play. (I'll probably try out the 2 new races just for their starting zones then delete them.)
Easy... I'll do all. Level my Achievement &*!@# Hunter, and my new Tauren Priest and Paladin, Goblin Rogue and Troll Druid. Whenever I get tired of a class, I jump to next. And probably I'll level in different zones with each one.But really, considering only those themes raised, because, Archaeology, Guild levels, and stuff are in Cataclysm too, and those might define where I spend my time into.
I have too many chars and so many I want to level or hold of on for the right time but here's the basic plansoon as cataclysm comes out level my back and forth between main horde char and main alliance char. at the same time create and tentitively create the respective new race for each. (thinking goblin priest and worgen rouge)once my mains are maxed I will keep my dk's gathering up to pace with my newbies to help with profs. also on horde side I pick up on leveling my alts alongside my newbie. I want to level my enhance shaman with all the new abilies and and talents for it with cata. and my dranei paly also. between those 4 I should be able to experiance all the new zones from both horde and alliance side to maximize my experiance...if I can manage to juggle doing all that at once @_@when/ if any of them get oo annoying I may take a break from juggling to make a gnome mage just because I don't really have any dps casters. but If one of my friends agree's to join I told her I'd make a b elf warlock to level with her. (even though I don't like elves) when/ if I do all that I will have one of every class and only 2 races will not be played by me (I hate elves and undead so refuse to be themI should get them all the way to 85 by the year 2025 and by then the level cap will likely have been raised again. haha
I'm pretty sure I'll level my Druid to 85 without doing another single thing and start raiding with my guild as soon as possible. The reason is that I don't want to fall behind like I have in all previous expansions. When i am 85 and raiding maybe 2-3 times a week i would maybe do a few daily quest a day or whatever you do to make money and play a few hours on a new goblin/worgen (can't decide which first! XD) between raids and money-making moments. But still I've heard from people in beta that the new quests are much more interesting, so I'm really looking forward to what Blizz has come up with this time. I guess I could at least do the starting zone quests before i get to 85 on my main, but that's it.
New Worgen Warrior for me
I'll be doing a mix of leveling my main and starting a Goblin and a Worgen. When I finish the starting areas for the new races I'll put more focus on my main and level the new alts at my leisure.
I did play a mage in 60 and when TBC came I leveled him to 70, I did really enjoy playing as a mage, it's definitely my favourite class. Anyhow, I decided to quit wow, school and stuff. Sold the account and had a great summer. Before Lich King arrived I made it to level 70 with a human Paladin and did nothing, just waited for the expansion. Now he's 80 and got some gear and loads of hours of gametime. Meanwhile playing the paladin I couldn't get myself to level a mage, played the original content too much. So when cataclysm arrives I'm going to start leveling my worgen mage! I've a feeling that Cataclysm going to make WoW feel much like it did in 60s, but with a hundred times better content.TL;DR: Leveling a fluffy worgen mage.
Well for there is another problem if all bets are that Cataclysm is out oct/nov time then i have the arrival of my 1st child a Boy called Logan, hes due about then aswell. Now do i ?A) use my months paternity leave to try 1st DK to 85 on doomhammer EU ignore lady and baby risk losing everything.B) quit wow and be a model fartherC)volunteer to stay up and do night shift with the baby and have him sleep next to me while i play, hey maybe i can still get to 85 quickall in all my DK will be my prioity and well maybe do the starting zones for goblins and worgens.
I'm personally gonna lvl my dk and rogue to 85. After that, I'll make my goblin and worgen characters and start to lvl those up as well. Gonna be fun with all the new things in Cata. Can't wait!
Option C- go back to the lowbie alts I have now, avoid the crowds and level in all the lovely new content!(bloody BRILLIANT setup! I don't like fighting half the server for spawns for the "kill ten rats" quests, and with all the new mid-range content, I don't have to!)
my main the one and only Tauren shaman! then a alt Worgen Rogue! RAWR!
