Shadow nerfed again? D=<Misery and Shadow Focus: Will the hit we lose from Shadow Focus and Misery be replaced by Twisted Faith seeing as that's going to be affected by caster dps gear not having spirit on it anymore? I have enough troubles raising my spell power while still reaching hit cap as it is. This won't help.* Any raid members who rely on shadow priest's Misery for 3% hit will have to find it somewhere else. too. Sorry folks.* Losing the 15% spell power benefit from Misery for MB, MF and FS is going to hurt, too.* The loss of the 6% mana cost reduction in Shadow Focus isn't welcome, either, especially as we're already losing mana from the nerfed intellect and Focussed Mind(?), no more mp5 and gawd knows where else.Focussed Mind: Not sure what's going on here. Looks like a mistake in the page but if the 'current' is what we'll get in Cata then it looks like a change from being a good PvE talent to a PvP talent. Not being a PvPer, this is terrible for me. Mind Melt: The new look isn't bad; it's just that the old talent was so good. I already use SW:Death as a 'finisher', anyway, as it was intended. In fact, I use it all the time, even when they're at full health, it's so good. (PW:Shield, VE etc make the damage negligible, anyway.) Plus with the glyph, they're already getting hit with an extra 10% when they're below 35%. Don't tell me they're going to change the glyph, now? /sighShadowform: No longer reduces threat by 30%. I have to use Fade a lot as it is. D=<* No more Abolish/Cure Disease without dropping SF. D=<* No more crits from SW:P, DP or VT. D=<* No more haste benefit for DP or VT. D=<Improved Shadowform: The 5% boost to raid haste rating is good but I don't want the talent otherwise and dislike being forced to take a PvP talent. Grrr.Twisted Faith: Losing the 20% of spirit spell power bonus. Do we get the boost somewhere else or are we just losing more spell power and that's that?I may have missed or misunderstood some things but, as it stands, it looks like I may be putting my shadow priest on ice when Cata's released. I'll have to check out the changes to the other classes, now, to see which of those I'll still want to play. D=<
Oh, Jesus.Okay. I'll go slowly, then, shall I?
1. Thanks for clearing up some things for me. There are so many things to consider in this game, it's easy to overlook, forget or not even know about some of them.2. Do you have to write it as if I've personally insulted you?3. The settings you see are for farming, not raiding. I have 17% when raiding and I don't need much hit rating to kill mobs outside dungeons.4. Your opinion on talent points is valid. So is mine. Some people may agree with you. I know many who agree with me.5. The sub-optimal cloak you mention happens to be the best cloak I'm capable of getting for the moment otherwise I'd have whatever happens to be the best along with all the other gear you mentioned. I'd rather be contributing to the raid with okay gear than telling my guild that "I'm saving up for the best cloak so you'll have to carry me for now".
Re 2: Yes, frankly. I'll clarify: I cannot $%^&ing stand the "Flavour of the Month" mentality. You took one look at our changes, saw some incredibly minor negatives in a sea of positives, and were instantly saying "Well, time to go play a different character in Cataclysm". You did not stop and think, for one moment. You did not apply your brain and try to see some logic behind the changes. You did not view the changes in a Cataclysm context; you barely viewed them through a Wrath context either. You displayed sheer ignorance of the class I have played since joining the game, and which I have levelled to the cap three times. So, yes, you have personally insulted me, and the class I love. If you're so quick to switch away from liking a class to hating a class, I don't want you playing my class; you can bugger off.Re 3: I had no idea there were still people who had specific non-hit gear sets. Why bother? It's not something you need to min/max for. It's just a waste of bag/bank space that you could otherwise use for ... y'know, whatever you're farming.Re 4: Many people in this world are wrong. That's why Appeal to Popularity is a logical fallacy. I can stand as alone as I like and be happy in the knowledge that I am right.Re 5: You completely miss the point. Funnelling Emblems of Frost away from Tier 10 items hurts your DPS way more than the minimal benefit that a cloak grants you, when you would be perfectly capable of getting a 232 or 245 from a PuG -- or, indeed, Lich Wrappings: if you gear around the hit rating on Lich Wrappings, it outstrips Volde's by a mile. You may think you're helping your raid group by doing what you're doing, but you really aren't. You've looked at one slot EDIT: Gear score and thought it more important than slamming all your emblems into a tier set which provides a 7%-10% boost to your damage. Any Shadow Priest who sees his Emblem of Frost purchasing options, and who doesn't take Tier 10 as a first priority, either has access to off-set item-level 277 pieces or doesn't realise just how powerful that 4-piece set bonus is.
Why? I didn't interpret things the same way you did, obviously. I did use my brain but, like I said, there are so many things in this game that it's not always clear what's going on. No need to jump on your high horse and start insulting someone because they think differently to you.I have a hit set because of the dps drop. I also have plenty of bag space left for farming drops.I'm right, too, just in a different way to you.I've only just downed Precious, Stinky, Festergut and Rotface for the first time the other night. Dreamwalker, and the Lich Wrappings are probably months away as are Tier 10 due to the infrequency of getting frost emblems. I'm lucky if I get to do ICC10 once a week.I use Gearscore for a very rough estimate and a few other bits and pieces that it's handy for. Not for telling me what gear I should be getting.Anyway, back to WoW.
With the 20% buff, you can go into ICC in full item level 232 tier 9 and tier 9-equivalent gear and kill everything up to Sindragosa with extreme ease, and Sindragosa herself only takes a bit of effort and training. "Lack of frost emblems" is no excuse, I'm sorry, and complaining that Tier 10 is months away because of lack of frost emblems is especially ironic when you have wasted them on 264 gloves and cloaks.(Additional tip: Precious and Stinky aren't bosses.)Anyway, yes, I'm done too. I think I've made my point.
Extreme ease... righto. It's ironic that you misunderstood what I meant about frost emblems. I don't get the opportunity to get them often so sitting on them until I have enough for the top stuff means that I (and therefore my guild) have to suffer with crap gear for a looong time. Hell, Cataclysm will probably be old hat by the time I even get to do The Lich King on 25 normal. I'm not even bothering to think about Heroic ICC yet. That's light years away.I know that Precious and Stinky aren't bosses but they're not a walk-over, either. You made your point, but it was spiteful and somewhat misinformed. Nevermind, I gained some things from it and maybe it helped vent your spleen a bit.

I'm still unsure about chakra. It says you can only be in 1 state at a time, but does each state have 2 effects? It only lists 2 ways to enter the chakra state so I'm assuming each state will have 2 different effects.
Is it just me or does shadow have fewer talents then the rest of the trees? ( and possibly other dps specs as well) It seems you can fill up the shadow tree completely and pickup the 10 points in disc....
they should get rid of lightwell, who uses that anyways?
