World of Warcraft is best when you have a community of other players around you, and while numerous ways to participate in cross-realm play have been added to the game over the years, there are still many aspects of the experience that are realm-based. From your history with your guild to your interactions with the economy around you, a realm with a healthy population provides more opportunities, and it’s been several years since we last connected some realms.

We’ve now completed a comprehensive study of realm populations for every realm in the world. Over the next 2-3 months, we’re going to connect the low-population realms to other existing realms. This process will take place during scheduled maintenance, connecting a few realms each week, until we’ve connected every low-population realm in every region to a substantially larger population of players.

As this project unfolds, we will post notices in advance of each week’s connections in the appropriate regions and languages. During each maintenance period, everything will be automatically combined for the affected realms. When maintenance is complete, players on affected realms will log into Battle for Azeroth and find that they’re now part of a larger connected-realm community. At the same time, we’ll merge the appropriate realm discussion forums.

Please keep an eye out for notifications here as we proceed through this project. Again, we’ll let you know here in advance when realms in this region are about to be connected.

Honestly the closer WoW gets to a few mega servers the better. Having all the players split like this and also having to deal w/ Shards and only some systems being cross realm but others aren't is just a huge hassle.

I think this is a good change and I'm glad they've being very proactive in letting players know.

My server is low pop to medium and already consists of two servers. Im not sure if it qualifies. But I would be happy if I joined other server. I think its a good change. Farming might get a little harder but you will have more demand in other areas.

Try to camp some rares while the competition is low.

See if there are any deals on the Black Market Auction House that you could sell once you have access to a bigger market.

The markets are going to be turbulent once they are connected and average prices and quantities settle down, learn your own markets and stock and get ready to react.

Today I've completed most of the work on my smelting flip calculator. Generally smelting is know as one of the laziest methods of gold making and it can be surprisingly rewarding. The calculator shows the potential profit for a craft and offers the cheapest method of acquisition.

When you’re setting up Auctioning Operations for example, you might have already set up a preferred maximum purchase price in a Shopping Operation or vice versa. We thought it would be beneficial to leverage those prices in other Operations so in TSM 4.10 there are new Operation-based Price Sources available.

In the example, your Maximum Purchase price from a Shopping Operation can be referenced as shoppingopmax. If you’ve assigned an Auctioning Operation to a group, the Minimum, Normal, and Maximum price can be referenced as auctioningopmin, auctioningopnorm, and auctioningopmax respectively.

Additionally, if your Sniper Operation differs in Maximum Purchase price you can reference this with sniperopmax. Now you can buy things for less than your Minimum Auctioning price, or post things for more than your Maximum Purchase price!

The longboi seemed like a great gold sink to me at first, but I've noticed a trend amongst people I play with.

They will set out to get the long Boi, make near a mil or two, then give up. These are people who never had more than 100k.

I have to imagine there are a decent amount of people in that position, or will be when the mount gets pulled and people didn't make the cut off. So now potentially we will have a lot of people with a bunch more gold than they would usually have going into shadowlands because they wanted the pretty mount

Absolutely agree.

Some got the frog mount, the spider mount, got alts power leveled.

I think what made it difficult is this late into the expansion and it feels like most people are grinding gold as fast as possible and markets are hemorrhaging.

Advice for those that get the longboi - these markets are flush with mats. Get your longboi and continue getting gold. Use that gold to stockpile mats and items you think could be useful in the short, medium and long term.

Bags are decent - and people will need them. Still not a ton of info on shadowlands professions - so I wouldn’t go crazy (meaning hundreds).

With bags - I made sure all my alts and their banks are fully 30 bags.

I put one guild bank tab of them in case. — For mats - I’m looking at old expansion mats that are still used regularly.

e.g. - mats for mounts, transmutes, profession cooldowns.

I’m also stock piling cheaper transmog and pets. Namely items that are high priced, but are over saturated in the market because people are farming them.

Also, I’m using Garrisons to pump out mats for goblin gliders. If they sell, great. If they don’t, that’s fine I’ll use em :).

My main advice - diversify investments. Current expansion mounts, current expansion items that are cheap that people craft with, and what I said above.

Some aren’t doing this, and others are. There isn’t a right or wrong here, just thinking through what will be needed come the next expansion when people aren’t farming like crazy and putting up these mats at a much cheaper price.
