The Vision of Perfection Essence has been hotfixed for Mages to no longer drop Rune of Power when it procs their major cooldown. This nerfs a popular major Essence for Mages in the Shadowlands Pre-Patch.

explained why this interaction was so powerful for Frost Mages.

and

. When it procs, it activates both
Runa de Poder
and
Veias Gélidas
, which can then be extended with
Caos Térmico
.
Without the Rune of Power, the interaction with
Veias Gélidas
and
Caos Térmico
still exists but you won't have the 40% bonus damage from
Veias Gélidas
during these small burst windows.
Frost Mage has been performing very well in the Shadowlands Pre-Patch as indicated by the
Warcraft Logs Rankings
and this will likely make them take a hit.
