It is no longer required to mind control Master Elemental Shaper Krixix to learn how to smelt Elementium Bar.

Krixix will only drop one book per kill.

Lose the roll on the book against another miner? No problem, Krixix respawns after the raid leaves the instance for an hour or 2 and will re-drop it.

tried to get in after rai ended. after 1 day. npc wasnt there. so dont think he respawns so fast as post above sad.

I just checked about 15 hours after clearing a BWL, the NPC was definitely respawned (just him, nothing else). He has 9k hp so is easily soloed, and dropped the book again.

Confirmed-

Master Elemental Shaper Krixix respawns all by himself and carries another copy of the book.

The entire instance was barren, except for him.

He has about 9000 health and is very, very easily soloable at level 80.

Once your raid has completed it's run, stick around for a little while and collect another book.

My guild keeps talking about having to get this book to smelt the new Elementim from Cataclysm. I'm a bit surprised because this book teaches smelting at skill level 300. I would assume that the new ore would require 450+ skill. I would think that the new Elementium would be completely different than the old Elementium.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

Does anybody know if, upon dropping Mining and re-learning it, you would have to find another copy of this book? I remember reading a long time ago that the quest to learn Dark Iron smelting didn't have to be repeated, but you did have to run back in to BRD and talk to Gloom'rel.

I ask because I'm going through a mount-crazed phase and wondering how horrible it would be to temporarily drop mining to grind up tailoring (for the flying carpets) and alchemy (for the Sandstone Drake) and then relearn mining, when the time comes.

Its true, cleared BWL with my guild, returned second day and the boss was only 1 in raid. BUT! He didnt drop the recipe, i guess its because I already got it: -SMART LOOT- as you see on top... But i got my Elementium Ingot =).

I have now killed this guy 6 times (after soft reset) and he havent dropped it yet. i have 600 mining / smelting. Can anyone confirm that he still drops the recepe and how many times you killed him for it to drop it. Thanks :)

I just had this drop from a Death Talon Wyrmguard. I missed Krixix when we made our first pass through.

Don't waste your time in farming the book with a character without Mining. The book won't drop

I've killed Krixix at least 15 times now over a few weeks, and nothing. There's no way it's still a 50% drop chance. I do have 600 mining. Can anyone confirm this hasn't been changed?

As patch 8.0.1 (8/3/18), currently it is not possible to get 300/300 classic Mineração by mining nodes alone. Mining Veio de Tório Escasso gives up to 290 skill, while Veio de Tório Abundante gives up to 295 skill. You can level mining from 295 to 300 only through Fundir Ferro Negro, which is learned from the quest: Cálice Espectral. If you already completed the quest and need to relearn how to smelt Barra de Ferro Negro, talk to Umbra'rel in Abismo Rocha Negra.

300 mining is required to learn how to Fundir Elemêntio Encantado from Guia Goblínico sobre o Elemêntio, since Wrath of the Lich King. Prior to Wrath, the recipe could be learned by mind controlling Mestre Moldador Elemental Krixix in Covil Asa Negra and casting the teach smelting ability on any player in the instance. The spell was learnable with or without mining, and could be crafted starting at 1 skill point once the player learned mining. These legendary bars are required for the well-known Tormentária, Lâmina Sagrada do Perseguidor dos Ventos.

It took a little bit of research to figure this out. I originally thought that Guia Goblínico sobre o Elemêntio was bugged in 8.0.1 until a GM informed me that my classic mining was only 295/300.

Patch 8.0 Can confirm a couple things:

1) You can return to the instance after having done a full clear and Master Elemental Shaper Krixix will respawn. He'll be all alone but will drop the book

2) YOU MUST HAVE MINING for this to drop. I farmed this for 3 weeks and didn't see it. This week I picked up mining and ran back to my already cleared instance and it dropped instantly. Can drop at level 1 mining.

It wasn't clear to me from other comments, but you have to come back after your initial BWL clear. For whatever reason it won't drop from the mob the first time through, but once you come back 40-50 minutes after to give him time to respawn (don't worry, the trap room is empty on a soft reset), it seems to be a 100% drop rate—but only if you're a miner!

Hi,

I try to get this book to learn smelting the enchanting elementium bars.
But I just killing the goblin the whole day (because of the soft reset is it possible) and the book does not drop.
I have classic mining at Skill 305 (because of Highmountain Tauren) and I think, I am able to use the book.

Any hints?
