It's rather odd you have to go through a multi-step process using a white item to create a nearly worthless grey item. When I first saw what I had made I had to be sure I was seeing the grey text right.

The item starts out as a white while it is empty. You need some kind of vessel to hold the lifeblood as you suck it out of the demon. One full, it will hold no more and becomes worthless well not quite worthless 11 silver , 23 copper. If there are only a few of you doing the event, you will probably wind up with 8 to 10 stacks of 20 by the time you finish.

If you use these to drain the giant Blood orb you can then fight an npc with decent loot drops. Not spectacular, but not fruitless.

If you drain the Lua Sangrenta to 0 life (look at the top middle of your screen when you are in the area to see it's life) you get the Resto da Lua Sangrenta to spawn, they are not made for selling or for any kind of value, just to spawn the npc.

You fill the vials in order to drain the blood moon which summons a boss. The boss won't come until the moon is fully drained. So the grey filled vial isn't worthless, it's a tool.

Almost everything you may want to know about this Cristal de Sangue Brilhante as of patch 9.0.5:

It is a trash-vendor item that you get after using Cristal de Sangue Drenado, which is the real star of the show here.

And just in case someone is reading this after quitting the game for a long time and returning to find Cristal de Sangue Brilhantes in their bags and felt curious how they got them and why they don't seem to be like most other trash-vendor items, here is almost everything you may want to know about where it came from: Cristal de Sangue Drenado.

You need a relatively large random number of Cristal de Sangue Drenado (very roughly 75) to summon Resto da Lua Sangrenta under a non-targetable sphere called Lua Sangrenta, which spawns randomly for its event, at coordinates 22.2, 50.5 of Tanaan Jungle, Draenor. Although you cannot target Lua Sangrenta, you can still mouse over it to see its health. As of patch 9.0.5, it has 25 HP. It randomly takes from 1 to 6 Cristal de Sangue Drenados to drain 1 HP from the Lua Sangrenta. So, you probably need a bare minimum of 75 Cristal de Sangue Drenados if you want to solo-drain Lua Sangrenta while it's at its full HP of 25.

Important Note 1: It takes about 6 seconds, sometimes slightly longer, to finish the draining cast after you right-click Cristal de Sangue Drenado. Be very careful and very patient here before right-clicking another Cristal de Sangue Drenado, because although you can right-click a new one before the draining cast is complete, from my experimentation, it seems that this wastes the draining mechanism itself! So, in short, if you do not wait about 7 seconds — just to be sure — after each right-click on Cristal de Sangue Drenado, you may waste its usefulness. So, make sure the cast bar is completely gone and then some before you right-click another one.

Important Note 2: If nobody else killed them recently, there should be 3 Cabalista dos Olhos Sangrentoss on the ground around the Lua Sangrenta, channeling some sort of spell toward the Lua Sangrenta. Although I cannot confirm this or be 100% certain of it, my testing gave me the impression that whatever those Cabalista dos Olhos Sangrentoss are doing may very well be protecting the Lua Sangrenta from the draining spell that you cast on it via the Cristal de Sangue Drenados. And if you're doing this at max level as of patch 9.0.5 or beyond, you can stand relatively close to those NPCs and they won't aggro. So, just to be on the safe side and not waste any of those Cristal de Sangue Drenados that you farmed, make sure to kill any and all Cabalista dos Olhos Sangrentoss that spawn under the Lua Sangrenta before you drain it with a Cristal de Sangue Drenado. If you test this and can confirm that this is not the case and the Cabalista dos Olhos Sangrentoss are not protecting the Lua Sangrenta from draining, please reply to this comment and if there are enough confirmations, I'll edit this comment; thank you.

Once you do bring the Lua Sangrenta to 0 HP, Resto da Lua Sangrenta spawns. It is almost insta-killed solo at max level as of patch 9.0.5. Resto da Lua Sangrenta has a roughly 1-in-3 chance to drop the toy, Vidrinho de Gosma Vermelha, and about a 1% chance of dropping various other Draenor pieces of gear, including blues/rares and shipyard equipment blueprints. And if it is marked by a double-sword relatively large icon on the map, then it is also guaranteed to drop 100 Latas de Óleo.

Finally, after using a Cristal de Sangue Drenado, the item that you get, Cristal de Sangue Brilhante, is indeed trash that you can safely vendor.

Collect about 70-80 crystals. Drain them all. Wait for each crystal to Drain completely (rather than watch the countdown). When you get to 0 the npc will spawn. I did this as top level (one shot) and didn't even kill the guys around the moon. It seems to be more drain 8 crystals, goes down one, drain 6 crystals, goes down one, drain 2 crystals, goes down one. A bit random. After all that I got some Primal spirit and Apexis Crystals. Not very much.

Tried to do this recently.
The boss was at 14%
55 vials later the boss was at 10% (and this took over an hour to collect)
Not worth the time spent.
