The scepter will make you able to open portals to inner so you don't have to go through the orange or purple part of Maraudon to get there.

whats next? after you give the two quest items to celebras? i cant finish this quest.. because celebras was gone after i finish " the legends of maraudon " sorry im no good in english.. tnx btw

If you lose your scepter, you can get it back by talking to this NPC again.

not sure but today was patch day and i just did mara 2 days ago and it wasnt like this 2 days ago.

Indeed. This item seems to have been changed in 3.0.8. My staff started at 0/100 durability, since it did not have durability before, I guess. Do you still need the staff to teleport through mara?

You no longer need the staff to get to Inner Maraudon. The portal where you would have used the staff at is now permanently open.

A very welcome change, IMO!

You are now able to sell the rod (for those who did save it) for 4 Gold, 38 Silver and 79 Copper, the problem is just that when you try to vendor it, you get the red message "the vendor doesn't want that item"!

To get to the new portal in 3.0.8 from the entrance, just follow the cave down and around until it splits into three paths, with the purple area on the left, another way down to the right, and center straight ahead a square portal flanked by horsemen statues. Continue straight ahead through the doorway from this point, continue down to the left and around the corner and you'll see the portal in the next room beyond the spectral horseman.

Blizzard's own "Questhelper" seems to misfunction occasionally.
During this quest for an example, it tells you to finish it at Lordamere Lake, Silverpine Forest.
Same kind of problem seems to occur with Princess Theradras also, southern Stonetalon Mountains being the location this time.

Not that it is a problem or anything.
