If you are a tailor, I recommend that you not turn in this quest when complete! Just throw the eggs out so that you can continue to loot them.

Each egg that you collect has a chance to spawn several spiders. Each spider has a chance to drop Ironweb Spider Silk and various other silks used in tailoring. The drop rate is good and because the eggs respawn, you can probably collect close to a hundred silk in an hour.

In short, the pet may be fun but the profit you could gain is very nice (especially if you disenchant items made with the silk).

The best drop you get from the spiders is the Ironweb Spider Silk. This stuff sells at the auction for a lot of gold. You can sell under 10 for over 50g or more. The spiderlings that may attack as you are getting the eggs can be difficult, but the Ironweb is more than worth it.

My detailed directions.

Get into Lower Black Rock Spire (Quick Summary):
Head upward to the Meeting stone, enter the passage behind, go up and bear right the whole way.

Get to the Spiders (Quick Summary):
Enter instance, go up onto the bridge, turn right, and jump down. Just before the first wooden bridge, head right and look down (should see two red tents below you). Jump. Head right and wind your way through the mobs and tents until you see the spiders up an incline. (Watch for patrols in packed areas if alone.)

Get to the Worg Pups (Quick Summary):
After the spider area, keep moving forward. You'll see ogres. Bypass them by dashing around the corner (there's also an area you can jump up on to avoid running around the corner, but I can't remember where). Head straight (avoid the Spire Scorpids on your right) through the doorway, then turn right. Pups by the boss in the room at the end.

I know this information is only loosely related but I didn't want to leave anyone with the misconception that you could not do this quest if you have been grinding Bloodsail rep as underpaidpyro mentioned. To his credit, sure you couldn't grind Bloodsail and do this quest simultaneously because the quest giver is allied with Booty Bay.

It can still be done, you just have to repair your rep with Steemwheedle once you're done with the Bloodsail. There's generally no reason to keep your rep with Bloodsail but if you really want to, I have marked the places where you will lose the rep you spent the past 40 or so hours building..

Different approaches include...

... doing repeatable quests in Dire Maul (fastest method)

... do repeatable quests in west Feralas

Zapped Giants
Fuel for the Zapping (-250 Bloodsail)

... do the OOX quest series

... Grind on Venture Co., Pirates and Bandits. (rep varies) eg:

Save the Wastewander Water Pouch they drop for when you're neutral with Gadgetzan again for quest: Water Pouch Bounty

... Turn-in cloth

Mending Old Wounds (-500 Bloodsail)
Traitor to the Bloodsail (-500 Bloodsail)
War at Sea (-500 Bloodsail)
Making Amends (-500 Bloodsail)

... or just turn on the Bloodsail and slaughter them en mass. Obviously you'll lose Bloodsail rep with this route. You might even luck out and get the incredibly rare (1:5000 drop) Hyacinth Macaw out of it.

get the quests from Kibler - sounds basic but finding Kibler was one of the most annoying bits of this process - he is in the cave behind Burning Steppes FP; I did not find the coordinates particularly helpful in this case & neither did the lev 80 DK I was running with - we both agreed that having the landmark makes it a pice of cake - or in this case, a piece of kibble. You have to kill a lot of spiders in BRS and click on egg sacks to collect 15 eggs for the NASTY quest - as long as you get 15 eggs you complete the quest, so if you die it's not the end of the world just really, really annoying. Someone with some decent AoE is very helpful in this area of BRS, like consecration, which I used liberally.
If you're in this for the pet (the only reason I wanted a spider) then you should snag the Exotic Pets quest from Kibler, too, and do the Worg puppy quest. I'd recommend you add the puppy cage to a hot key on your action bar to facilitate success - as soon as you enter the room with the worg puppies target any pup & use the cage to capture it - then you have to kill all the other worgs you've aggroed - plus the bigger elites if you're unlucky - again, if you get the puppy in the cage you succeed so you could die after you get the puppy. The puppy is great; he barks when you click on him & everything. The directions noted above for getting to the spiders once in the instance & then on to the puppies is pretty accurate, too.

Enjoy your new pets! I sure enjoy mine (well, the puppy, anyway! ~grin~)

Quest is no longer available, which means no more chances to get the Spider. Was so disappointed when i got to Kibler and it wasn't there.

I'd sent Bijou into the Spire to try and collect some of those spire spider eggs but I haven't heard from her in weeks. Maybe you can help me out?
