If you are doing this quest and happen to get "A Talking Head" (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=3317), don't make the mistake I did and leave the castle to turn in the ichor quest. The questline for talking head takes place in that castle on Fenris Island, so if that quest item drops for you, might as well finish it off since you've cleared all the castle out that far.

You dont need to go inside the castle for this quest.

Drop-rate seem to have been very nerfed.. I killed 12 Brutes and 5 Plague Weavers, before the forst Rot Hide Ichor dropped for me :(

In total, I had to kill:
1 Rot Hide Bruiser (a rare spawn, and he didn't even drop any Ichor)
19 Rot Hide Brutes
14 Rot Hide Plague Weavers
2 Rot Hide Savages

That's A LOT of killing for that few quest items.. :(

Quite hard, but soloable at lvl 13, at least for spell casting classes with some sort of 'distraction' example: voidwalker, frost nova etc.
If you really want to get this quest done around level 12-13, prepare to die alot, unless you got some insane skill, or im just a noob :P

This quest counts for both the Loremaster of Eastern Kingdoms and the Loremaster of Kalimdor achievements.

Not sure if I got RNG screwed but it tookan hour to get all of the ichors to drop.

Before we launch an assault on Fenris Isle, we must determine who is behind the rot hide gnolls. Our apothecaries believe their origin lies within the strange fluid that flows through their bodies.

Go to Fenris Isle, east of the Decrepit Ferry, and collect rot hide ichor from the gnolls you find there. Bring it to Apothecary Renferrel, stationed outside the Sepulcher.
