I found the poachers at 60, 31 pathing as a group. Their levels ranged from 47-50. Shortly after I found them, they attacked a red spider, and I was able to pick them off one by one. They've got hardly any HP, so I'm sure I could have easily AoE'd them down as a 48 mage.

As far as I know, having Tailoring as a profession is required to even see this quest as available. I'm not sure if there's any Tailoring level requirement.

I agree with pelf. it appears you do have to be a Tailor in order to get this quest.

A friend (49 priest, tailor/enchanter) and I (48 rogue, herb/alch) were questing in searing gorge when we stumbled across the NPC quest giver. he could see a quest from her and I couldn't even talk to her. he took the quest and told me it is underneath the heading 'Tailoring' in his quest log, not Searing Gorge.

This quest requires you to be a Tailor and be at 230 skill I think.

Soloed as 49 shadow priest. Took them in lvl order by relying on Psychic Scream to separate them out a bit.

soloed as level 45 affliction warlock:

the key part is that wait 'til they start pwnin' a spider; i started nuking the one that the spider is hittin' and put curse of exhaustion and damaging dots (siphon life, corruption) on them from time to time and kited them to kargath where the guards helped me out… a bit :)
but they evaded fast when they weren't aggroed a spider :-S

As part of this quest you can get Nilith's guardian elemental to help you fight. Speak to him after you have accepted the quest to get the Staff of Command http://www.wowhead.com/?item=10464

The is a tailoring quest

I found them around 57.23

But you will find them in the area of the lava spiders as they are killing them

If you are doing this solo basicly let them attack something then just dot em up and stuff. If you're a warlock you got enough time to dot everyone up fully and once everyone is on you, just Howl of Terror and gg.

I solo'd this quest as a lvl 46 shadow priest. I waited until they attacked a spider and then blasted in.
I was able to kill all of them in one try just fearing them as i picked the ones behind off. i pulled aggro off the spider so the spider kept on hitting them from behind helping me out.
You can find them Northeast of the Cauldron patroling.
I would suggest for all the magic users to just keep a mana pot or hp pot with you and you should be fine. Keep them seperated if at all possible.

Pretty easy quest when u have the guardian helping u. Send him to tank the poachers and then kill them 1 by one. By the time the guardian died its only 1 or 2 left.
Did it with my fire mage at level 49, i think

I didn't take the infernal with me, mostly because I wasn't planning to do the quest until later.

47 Warlock killing the War Golems, I was alttabbed checking something else and came back in Combat... all I can say is it's lucky I had Fel Domination to get me my second Voidy.

Careful with using the guardian though, and with attacking them while they fight a spider. I did it that way, and I only got credit for three. Not five.

This quest requires you to be tailor or leatherworker, no specific skill required.

Tailors need to have a minimum skill of 230. The quest wasn't available at 229, I made a bag so I got 230, and the quest became available.
Don't know if it's the same for leatherworkers.

be careful not to let raze do too much damage, if he does more damage to one of the guys then you do, you do not get credit for killing him.
so you have to wait for them to respawn.

I just soloed this as a 47 afflic lock, and I wasn't even aware that the elemental was able to assist until I looked here.

It was pretty easy, however. Just charged on in after they killed a spider, voidwalker kept the aggro of most of 'em and I hit them all with two rains of fire, then had very little left to finish off. I used one healthstone, but could have gotten by without it, I think.

Uh, bit of a weird bug i'm having right now...
I accepted the quest, then talked to Raze but my bag was full. So i didn't get the staff.
Figured i'd abadon the quest and pick it back up but it didn't work - couldn't talk to Raze at all.
So i figured i'd just leave it and do it myself, so went running off, when... Raze appeared running behind me...
Thought if i abandon the quest he'd Despawn but... so far he's been following me for about... 5-10 minutes.

I did this easily on my 52 lock, just get out your felguard or voidwalker and health funnel them all the way through.

there is a path to the very north valley area up in the hills thats hard to find. i had to do some jumping but got up it. found 5 walking around. they all attacked at once but im level 61 priest and managed pretty easilly taking em out one at a time as fast as i could with holy fire, shadow ward, and wanding each one.

Solo'd easily enough as a level 80 Warlock in full t10.5 gear.

If you're doing at 80 (or much higher than the quest level) and have a pet, turn it off for this, mine killed one of the poachers and it's taking ages for them to respawn.
