I froze my account for the first time since the beginning of WoW, been out of the game for 2 months now. There just isn't anything to do ingame. Patch 3.3.5 is not bringing me back. A new raid? Who cares when everyone is so bored to the game that all they do is fight each other verbally and then logoff for 3 days or so.Cataclysm will bring me back but when is that going to be? Not anytime soon.Judging by the rising amount of WoW commercials on TV, I'd say that lots of people have froze their accounts, maybe for the same reason I did.Now my biggest "problem" is to find another game to play until Cataclysm hits. Maybe I'll go back to EVE Online which I played a couple of years before WoW.. Maybe I'll find myself mining veldspar with osprey =D
Wish I could say it was over for me, I'm casual, I haven't seen close to 95% of the raid content in WoW. I see 3.3.5 looming on the horizon and all I can think is, "Might as well roll a Goblin for Cataclysm, more raid stuff I'll never see."Ah well,
I don't really experience this problem. I think it may be that I play this game to play with my friends. It's all about Downing the bosses with your friends, or killing the Horde in EotS with your friends.Grinding out Cenarion Rep With your friends.I think some people who get bored don't realize this is their problem. They're playin' this game for the content. You can only go around the Monopoly board so many times before you realize that the game isn't about landing Park Place and Boardwalk, it's about chilling with your buddies./shrug.
My motivation is just the one that you don't like: PvPYou can have 100k HKs, more than 2000 rating in the three arena brackets, and always, someone, will surprise you in some way, like using a Really Sticky Glue when you're about to catch the flag in WSG, for example. When I started to play, almost 3 years ago, a friend of mine said: "WoW is a game that you can play for 20 years, and you'll never know everything.". And, believe me, he was right.
This post was from a user who has deleted their account.
the only thing that keeps me playing is the tought that cataclysm beta comes out soon
This sounds a lot like what some guildies in the past used to talk about right about this time every year: Summer.Summer is nearing (even though the weather definitely says its here already) and people definitely seem to want to do other things during the months when it makes sense to be outside. I'm in Minnesota, so when we can go outside and still feel our fingers and toes, we leap on the chance.Give it a couple months, the hype of summer weather will die down, and you'll want to play again. It happens to all of us.
Try doing the same thing as 9 different classes. I actually occupy all my time leveling and gearing alts, seems to be what I enjoy most. I get a "main" into Icecrown, decently geared out and then start an Alt. Once the alt hits 80 I gear him out, then do another one. I did this about 5 times as Horde and decided I wanted to change things up a bit so now I'm as Alliance and working on getting all my alts to 60 with my RAF, then work on it from there.I figure once I have 10 Horde and 10 alliance at 80 (or 85), I'll just play whatever I feel like playing at the time and when I get bored, switch to the other character as there will always be something to do x20.
For me, i am not a raider, so I never have the absolute best gear, nor am I a hardcore pvp person, and have never done an arena. I do agree, however, that Cataclysm needs to come out and fast. It's basically the same thing, over and over and over again and after leveling so many alts, I can get one to level 30 within a day or so. I'm hoping cataclysm brings new challenges to the leveling aspect as well as the end-game stuff. Sure, raids are fun, but doing the same bosses over and over again to get 1 piece of loot? I find that retarded. I would like to see raids kind of like the "Satchel of Helpful goods." thing that happens pre-level 70
Yes, it has been exhausted. I haven't been able to play for 2 months now due to an amazing amount of boredom while playing.
This is the major reason i decided to finally try an RP server after 5 years of playing WoW. I find that, while i am not quite as amazing as this editorial's author, I'm exhausted with leveling alts (i have something like 20 characters now, most above 75...sigh, wtb life, pst.), farming dungeons, doing raids, PVPing and mindlessly grinding achievements with no rewards beyond points i can't spend on anything.I cannot wait for Cataclysm to level my worgen, experience all the new quests and zones. I'm hoping that that, with the addition of RP (which, as an old roleplaying geek, I am loving.) Cataclysm will restart my love for the universe that Blizzard has created, nerfed, buffed, patched, broken, fixed, and maintains for us.
I suppose the main fuzz is over, sadly, i don't play, i just read the news and sush. And i understand that Alts wont cover for it, as the archivements and raids wont change, only your role.Alot of players eventually comes to a point, after ages, and ages, where they find that they have done pretty much everything there is to do, this is not as rare as some would think.Me? I wait for an expantion, or stop playing, however, i think alot of people would still play the game even if it had ZERO expantions, but ofcourse, all actions that are repeated, gets boring, (exept some, perhaps XD)
I've been bored of WoW for the last 3 months. I let my game time run out in April. I am waiting for Cataclysm to release to cure my boredom with the game. So far, this is the third time Ive been bored of WoW since Wrath was released. Itll happen again in Cataclysm but until then, Im eagerly awaiting the expansion. Cataclysm will hold me over until Old Republic is released :D
WoTLK does feel a bit out of content, I have been working on older achievements more lately even though I still haven't made it to the Lich King encounter. Progression raiding can get boring.
I'm at the point of WotLK where doing ICC is probably too unlikely because I lack the time. So I'm sticking to preparing a handful of alts for the 80-85 grind. If Blizzard works it right, it shouldn't take more than a week per alt to bring to 85.
