Haven't looked at the other caster weapons in naxx, but this certainly seems good for mages as well

Will be fun trying to explain a Mage/Warlock why he shouldnt roll on this lovely staff. "BUTOMGICANUSESPIRITNOW!" But so clearly a healer's staff :) Oh well, enjoy your WotLKs tomorrow people <3

I got it on my Warlock tonight.

And, how no-one has mentioned it's good for Warlocks is beyond me.

Spell damage + haste, yes please.

Stamina + intelects are a given.

But, the recent lifetap/fel armour change has made spirit probably our best stat out of stam/int/spirit.

My lifetaps are now up to 3k, and will only get higher as gear gets better with more spirit.

And locks get 39% of their spirit converted to spell damage...so this staff gives me a bonus 35.1 spell damage just through the spirit alone. So total of (408+35.1) 443 spell damage.

I'd say that this makes it a pretty nice warlock staff.

90 Stamina
90 Intellect
89 Spirit
59 Hit
408 SpellPower

same model as https://www.wowhead.com/cata/item=22801#. in old world naxx blizz is really tryin to use as much from the old naxx as possible and i have to say i like it alot, this was an amazing staff then and it looks like a pretty good heal staff now

this is a comment from an old school raider on that staff "I love the looks, as a side note, if you look at the posted pic's of it, it rotates on the bottom while the little candles on top are actually what appear to be tiny skulls, with little candles protuding from the top that float up and down in time with the staff.
I always think of the little floating skulls with candles on their heads are kobold skulls, just for laughter. you no take candle!"

i hope it still twists at the bottom : )

Sigh.. all this "my class should loot it first because bla bla bla" talk gives me a throw up symptoms neither of DPS/Healer should be decided that way, Blizz implamanted such thing as "roll" and if you have problem with looting simply raid with "same" team all the time! such talks wont be even tolerated in a PuG...

Only in a mindless pug should this ever go to a mage.

If you're a mage, pick up https://www.wowhead.com/cata/item=44173 from revered Kirin'Tor and https://www.wowhead.com/cata/item=40698 from 25x emblem of heroism.

compared to the staff you gain:

72 hit
50 crit
14 spellpower

and loose:

89 haste

Haste is strictly inferior to hit, crit and spellpower at the earlier gear levels for a mage. It would be pure lazyness for a mage to roll on this instead of getting the much easier mh/oh combo. If you can't scrape together 25 emblems and the kirin'tor rep you have nothing to do in a guild, much less in a raid instance. Nobody likes you. Stop relying on others to carry you in raiding.

No one ever mentions these things but...Yes this weapon shows up all weapon enchants, +81 spell power happens to look quite marvelous on it as well, as does black magic.
